OUR STYLEOur custom portrait sessions are a unique and personalized experience. As parents ourselves, we know the importance of preserving your family’s most precious moments. We strive to make our baby sessions relaxed and enjoyable, while capturing a variety of posed and candid portraits. Babies are encouraged to move around, play, and have fun! With an eye for perfect moments and unique perspectives, we create baby and family portraits that are beautiful, genuine, and emotional. Sophie helps with styling and tickling, while Michael has the expertise in artful lighting and retouching to bring out the best in your portraits. We love getting to know each of our clients, and creating one-of-a-kind art that you will treasure forever. SCHEDULINGIt’s never too early to book! Sessions fill up quickly, and it’s always best to contact us as soon as possible for an appointment. We recommend planning your baby portraits around the following milestones: HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION LAST?Sessions typically last 1-1.5 hours. There is plenty of time for diaper changes, snacks, and cuddles to put your baby at ease. We encourage you to bring along a change of outfit and accessories to add variety to your child’s portraits. Our spontaneous and silly approach allows us to capture those unexpected moments that become the most beautiful, meaningful portraits. |
STUDIO, OUTDOORS, OR ON-LOCATION?Baby portraits may be captured in our studio, in your home, or at the outdoor location of your choice. Our studio is a warm and cozy environment with an abundance of natural light. We also love photographing baby and family portraits in the natural splendor of the outdoors. The vibrant colors and textures provide a stunning backdrop. Choosing a location that is special to your family is a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your images. We have lots of favorite locations, and we’re always happy to help you select the ideal setting for your shoot. WHAT TO WEARClothing is a key element for beautiful, timeless portraits. We love to photograph babies in a cute diaper cover, well-fitting favorite outfit, or a simple onesie. Clothes that have texture, like cable-knit sweaters, corduroy, lace, and ruffles photograph beautifully in baby portraits. As for Mommy and Daddy, we recommend simple, classic apparel that reflects your style. We love neutrals, creams and soft pastel colors. Have fun with accessories and layers to add dimension to your portraits. Your Welcome Packet will provide lots of inspiration, but in the meantime, you can view some of our favorite combinations here: PORTRAIT SESSION VS. MINI SESSIONOur premium portrait session is 1-1.5 hours, allowing plenty of time for outfit changes, meaningful props, and a large variety of concepts. Our premium portrait session clients are interested in an extensive selection of images to create albums, Wall Clusters, Digital Packages, and Collections. As an alternative, our Mini Sessions are a wonderful way to capture a smaller variety of beautiful baby and family portraits without the commitment of a premium session. Mini Sessions are offered in our studio or Central Park. Post-Processing & OrderingFollowing your session, Michael selects the best images for processing and retouching. He devotes time to carefully compare the hundreds of images from your session to select the best ones from each concept — based on facial expressions, posing, lighting, sharpness, and overall appeal. These 20-30 images (8-10 for Mini Sessions) are each individually processed and enhanced into a true work of art. Approximately 2-3 weeks following your session, we invite you into the studio for your proofing session. This presentation will be an emotional experience, after which you will be able to select the images you would like to order for your home, office, family and friends. Michael will consult you on options for displaying your baby and family portraits in creative and beautiful ways. We are happy to accommodate you in the evenings and weekends for these appointments. Displaying Your PortraitsWe offer a variety of Fine Art Prints, Boutique Items, Keepsake Albums, Digital Packages, and Collections to suit every client. Each product we offer has been selected for its quality craftsmanship, and the heirloom quality ensures that your custom art will be enjoyed for generations!
