As parents ourselves, we know the importance of preserving life's special moments. Our portrait sessions are a unique and personalized experience, aimed to provide you with beautiful portraits to be cherished for a lifetime.
This page offers some helpful guidelines to make the most of your session. We are honored to capture your family's unique story, and look forward to seeing you soon!
STYLE
Clothing is a key element for beautiful, timeless portraits. Here is some general advice for making picture-perfect fashion decisions:
- Select outfits that represent your style, and then bump it up a notch. Creams, greys, and soft pastels photograph beautifully. If you’re in a colorful mood, add a splash of turquoise, rose, or mustard yellow.
- Use accessories and layers to add pops of bright color and dimension to your portraits. We love rich textures, simple patterns, chunky jewelry, scarves, bowties, hats, headbands, lace, ruffles and buckles.
- Coordinate your outfits. Matching exact shades can look overdone, so keep each person a little unique by choosing several complementary colors.
- Plan your outfits one week before your session. Lay them on the bed, step back, and take a look. Once you’re happy with your choices, make sure they’re clean and wrinkle-free for your special day!

FOR BABIES
Our best tip for baby outfits is to make sure that everything fits well. Avoid baggy clothing and collars that may obstruct the face wthen sitting or being held. The most flattering outfit is generally a stylish onesie with a cute pair of pants. Rompers and dresses that snap under the butt are ideal for this age. Some parents like to bring along a little vest or hat for variety. If you can’t find the perfect shoes, then bare feet are always adorable!
personal touch
Besides your usual diaper bag, we encourage you to bring along your child’s favorite book and stuffed animal. If there is something meaningful or fun that you’d like to include in your portrait session, please bring it along. We’ve had clients bring a guitar, colorful quilt, silly rain boots, and superhero cape… Surprise us!

HOW TO DRESS
your family
Firstly, we recommend choosing the feel for your portraits. If you’d like a warm color palette, consider brown, mustard, rust, burgundy, cream, beige and taupe. If you’d prefer a pastel palette, consider cream, white, beige, gray, blush, rose, and soft blues.
Choose well-fitted clothing and something that makes you feel confident. We suggest starting with the pickiest person’s clothing first, and then building everyone else’s styles based on that outfit.
AVOID! Stay away from thin stripes, small plaid or buffalo prints, large logos, cartoon characters or bold words on your clothing, as it distracts from the subjects of the portraits.
Don’t forget to coordinate shoes! This is usually the thing most people forget about, and it really makes a difference. Shoes in neutral tones are perfect, or make a statement with a pop of color. Stay away from athletic shoes and shoes with neon colors. Wear shoes that go with the style you are wearing. Unless your session is in your home or on the beach, and in that case, ditch the shoes!
AFTER THE SESSION
Within a week of your session, we will share an online proofing gallery for your review. Once you've selected your favorites, we will hand edit each image in our signature style for your portrait gallery. Please understand that RAW unedited images are not a finished product They may not be downloaded or shared. If you'd like to purchase any additional portraits for your final gallery, please note the fees below. Once you've made your selections, we will edit each of these images in our natural style for your portrait gallery.

Sessions include a select number of portraits. However, you're always welcome to purchase additional high-resolution edited portraits. RAW images are not offered. Please review pricing details below:

ARTISTIC EDITING
Your final images will each be individually enhanced with our natural style of editing. Rest assured that we will adjust white balance, remove distractions, tastefully minimize blemishes, and more. All to make sure you all look your best. For clients interested in more extensive editing, we are happy to recommend a professional retouching service. Please view samples of our natural post-processing in the Before & After Gallery for reference.
