Antelope Canyon is about as spiritual of a place as one can hope to find on this planet. Shaped by rainwater over millions of years, the sandstone canyon shows a wide array of colors and layers, as the sun bounces through its narrow opening, off one wall onto another. For photographers, the canyon packs
a plethora of abstract shapes, hues and patterns. It’s a sensory overload. From a technical standpoint, the utter darkness and dynamic range
stretches the limits of what today’s cameras can do.

Last year, I had the opportunity to photograph the lower canyon, so I spent my second visit exploring the wonders of the upper canyon. Here’s a peek of two more images that I’ve just finished processing. They’re part of a triptych of 30×40 Floating Metal Art pieces that will be hung in our hallway. I dedicate these to Sophie, since she’s the biggest fan of Antelope Canyon, and I hope she’ll be able to join me on the next adventure to the West coast. 🙂
