For those of you who don’t know, Sophie is my wife and assistant, and the person you’ll reach when contacting Michael Kormos Photography. She’s the woman I love, and an absolutely invaluable part of our photography business. She’s also the occasional subject of my many lighting experiments. This time, we set out to do a sunset shoot in Kissena Park, Queens.
Don’t let the warmth of the setting sun fool you. By the time we got to the Park, temperatures had dipped into the low 20s, and the winds had picked up quite a bit. Sophie’s “cute” shoes were filled with snow, and my hands were practically frost-bitten by the end of the shoot. Oh, what we do in the name of art. Sophie, as always, thanks for being such a great sport!
