Celebrate your pregnancy with a maternity photoshoot, designed to make you feel like a goddess. Our Manhattan studio is stocked with hundreds of garments for you to choose from, as well as full glam services (make-up and hair). Maternity sessions are also offered at select locations throughout the city, if you prefer a more editorial look to capture this incredible time.

IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME
Newborn photos are best taken in the first two weeks. During this time, they sleep deeply, which allows us to pose them comfortably. These sessions book out fast, so be sure to reserve your slot well ahead of time. Sessions are offered at our photo studio, or in your home. We bring along a small suitcase stuffed with all of our signature blankets, knits, as well as portable lighting.

WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH MY NYC FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT?
Your session includes the following:
- Consultation with Sophie. You'll discuss everything from the best locations Big Apple has to offer, to weather, timing, and what to expect next. Shortly after booking your shoot, you'll receive our Welcome Guide. It offers many helpful tips, including how to time your toddler's naps, to what things to avoid (such as avoiding sugar before your photo shoot).
- Our time and talent on the day of your session. We'll utilize wide-angle lenses (35mm) for those editorial, sweeping views, along with telephoto perspectives (85mm), that really close in on your individual expressions. Our signature style is defined by creamy bokeh with soft lighting. These elements paint your baby portraits with our hallmark light-and-airy look.
- Curating and proofing gallery: Within ten days, you'll receive an online proofing gallery. The average family photoshoot can involve 1000+ images. We carefully curate this vast library down to a few hundred photos, so you can digest them more easily. During the curating process, we carefully compare each image for lighting, posing, focus, facial expressions, and overall aesthetic appeal. Only those pictures that meet our photographic standards get picked. From your proofing gallery, you'll have the chance to pick your favorite images for final editing.
- Artistic editing and post-session consultation: Your final images are hand-edited one by one. No AI to be found here! Frizzy hair is minimized, skin blemishes removed, clothing wrinkles evened out, and about a dozen things more! The final portraits you receive will be absolutely stunning. This is one of the most time consuming parts of our process. The average 1-hr photo shoot generally results in approximately 10+ hours of editing. Additionally, we'll help to guide you how to best display your memories. We offer a wide selection of stunning wall art and albums (see more below).
DO I HAVE FLEXIBILITY WITH LOCATIONS?
Yes! In fact, we want you to express yourself through these portraits. Above all else, they should feel personal, and identify with your family, its interests and lifestyle. Say you're an Upper West Side family and want to keep it local. West 75h Street (between Central Park W and Columbus Ave) is especially well suited for beautiful brownstones with porches. No matter where you're from, we've compiled a library the most stunning places to shoot in and around New York City. Give Sophie at the studio a call for a personalized consultation.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU RECOMMEND I BOOK MY ARTISTIC MATERNITY AND NEWBORN SESSIONS?
We strongly recommend our clients reserve their maternity and newborn photoshoots early. These are always in high demand, and we cannot guarantee a last minute spot. Our newborn clients generally reserve their shoot once they know their baby due date. By reserving a newborn session with us, you're not committing to a specific date. You're securing our availability instead. Once your baby is born, you'll call us to schedule the actual shoot date (generally within the first 14 days). In much the same way, you don't have to commit to a studio or in-home session early on. You can decide on that closer to your shoot date, depending on how you feel, and what setting would be most convenient.
HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE MY FINAL GALLERY OF FAMILY PORTRAITS?
After your session, you can expect to receive your Proofing Gallery (the best picks from your shoot), within 10 days. Once you select your favorite images, the editing process generally takes an additional 2 weeks. During peak season (September through December), it may take us an additional week to finalize your portraits. Though rest assured, we comb over every image with our artistic brush to ensure nothing goes amiss!
DO YOU PROVIDE GUIDANCE ON TASTEFUL WARDROBE CHOICES FOR MY BABY PHOTOS?
As part of our pre-session consultation, Sophie will guide you throughout every step of your experience. Once we determine the theme for your baby portraits (i.e. Coney Island Beach), we'll send you a Pinterest link. This mood board will serve as a good starting point to help you coordinate your family outfits, without looking too matchy-matchy. Most of the families you see in our galleries have been guided by us in much the same way!

My husband and I had a great experience with our maternity photo shoot with Michael and Sophie. We are usually camera shy and have a hard time posing for pictures but Michael and Sophie's professional and laid back manner created a much easier atmosphere for us to be in, in a very short amount of time. They work very well together and are quick and focused during the session.
